Findings
The aim of the 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success study is to provide benchmarks as a tool for performance improvement for use by all hospitals that provide cardiac care. The benchmarks themselves demonstrate levels of performance that can be achieved and serve as a target for peer hospitals.
Based on comparisons between the Solucient 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks Hospitals and a peer group limited to similar high-volume hospitals, we estimate that:
In this year’s Findings section, we:

Summarize
our new findings about the wide variance in heart attack treatment
in U.S. hospitals.

Discuss
the mixed results cardiovascular hospitals are showing in post-operative
complications.

Display
data for complete hospital performance reporting. This expands the
100 Top benchmark analysis to provide positive performance data to
share with hospitals' communities, and complements traditional benchmarks
used for internal performance improvement.

Provide performance measure data, identifying differences between benchmark hospitals and their peers.
