By combining publicly available data sets and our empirical, time-tested methodologies, the 100 Top Hospitals® program objectively identifies the highest performers in the nation. By highlighting what these leaders do best, we have raised the bar for hospital performance each year.

  • The 100 Top Hospitals: National Benchmarks and 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks identify the nation's top providers, using the two most recent years of data. These studies benchmark the industry's management and clinical outcomes to help hospital boards and executives ask the right questions about organizational performance and assess the effectiveness of their own strategies and execution.
  • The 100 Top Hospitals: Everest Award for National Benchmarks honors a select group of exceptional hospitals that have achieved the highest rate of long-term improvement resulting in the highest performance in the country.
  • The Performance Improvement Leaders study identifies hospital management teams that have led their organizations to achieve the fastest rate of consistent annual organizational improvement over five years. This study allows boards and executives to compare the year-over-year consistency and speed of organization-wide improvement against peers and understand the alignment of their organization's various units and how they contribute to permanent improvement.
Together, the studies provide the industry's first hospital board-level tool set for comparatively assessing organizational performance against the nation's top hospitals and all others.
