WHICH HOSPITALS WON?

To acknowledge the specialization of the stroke services field, we have compiled four separate lists of top stroke hospitals. The first list comprises the 100 top stroke hospitals overall. There are also separate lists for teaching hospitals, hospitals with stroke residency programs and community hospitals.

HOW WERE THE WINNERS CHOSEN?

This study is based solely on objective, quantitative data that are consistent and complete across the United States. This methodology ensures that the focus is on statistical rather than anecdotal evidence of top performance. For complete details on our methodology, click here.

WHAT WERE SOME OF THE KEY FINDINGS?

By studying Medicare patients who received stroke care in 1998 and 1999, we found a direct correlation between the volume of patients treated and the quality of care provided.  For details on our findings, click here.
